Job description

Your experience includes... 

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline e.g., Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical Science, with 0-3 years of industry experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, and/or CROs. Postdoc experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on Experience in LC-MS based bioanalysis of proteins, oligos or small molecules in biological matrix is required.
  • In-depth scientific knowledge and hands on technical expertise on LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and chromatography methodologies and instrumentation is required.
  • Proficiency of using Sciex Triple Quadrupole LC-MS/MS system or Thermo Orbitrap mass spectrometers such as Q Exactive series or Exploris series.
  • Experience with lab automation technologies is a plus.

You are interested in... 

  • Develop, optimize, and validate bioanalytical methods to measure proteins, oligos, and lipids in biological samples, including cells, biofluids, and tissues, to support the development of discovery, preclinical and clinical programs.
  • Design and execute experiments from sample preparation, LC-MS/MS operation to data analysis & interpretation.
  • Guide CROs for method transfer CROs and serve as technical expert for method trouble shooting.
  • Write internal assay protocols, ROPs, qualification plans, and sample analysis reports.
  • Provide maintenance, quality control and troubleshooting of LC-MS systems.

About you: 

We are seeking a highly motivated bioanalytical scientist to fulfil a Scientist role in our DMPK group. The candidate will be responsible for developing and employing LC-MS methods to characterize and quantitate proteins, oligos and lipid in cells, blood and tissues to support discovery, preclinical, and clinical programs for a variety of therapeutic indications. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and is willing to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced work.

Gang Sun, PhD - Executive Director, DMPK/Bioanalytical

Dr. Gang Sun has over 17 years of experience in DMPK and Bioanalyticals. Dr. Sun has worked with diverse drug modalities, including small molecules, proteins, oligos, and mRNA, across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, and gene editing. Dr. Sun has actively contributed to the support of discovery, preclinical, and clinical programs. He currently leads a multidisciplinary team at Tessera Therapeutics, where he oversees DMPK, bioanalytical, clinical pharmacology, biomarker, and ADA support for the development of Gene Writing and Rewriting Therapeutics. Prior to joining Tessera Therapeutics, Dr. Sun held positions at Translate Bio, Corbus Pharmaceuticals, Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Merck & Co., and Covance. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Peking University, an M.S. from Qingdao University of Science and Technology, and a B.S. from Qingdao University.

Compensation:

The stated base salary range represents Tessera's good-faith estimate for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to individual qualifications, years of relevant experience, internal compensation alignment, and external market data.

Per Year Salary Range: $109,000 - $143,000
