Job Description
  • Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a molecular biologist to play a key role in development and optimization of technologies that complement our client's current ones. The candidate will be an integral member of an innovative, interdisciplinary team and will support discovery campaigns from library/reagent preparation through binder characterization. Scientific curiosity and a genuine interest in display technologies and peptide therapeutics are highly valued; direct display experience is a plus but not required.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Prepare reagents and biological materials supporting phage display selections: buffers, peptide/protein reagents, biotinylated proteins and library materials
  • Support the build and execution of phage display selections, including routine molecular biology (cloning, PCR/qPCR, plasmid and DNA/RNA prep) and phage titration, pouring and handling of phage
  • Perform downstream binding and functional assays for hit characterization, such as ELISA, MSD, etc
  • Maintain detailed, well-organized experimental records in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN)
Qualifications
  • B.S in Biology, Chemistry or a related field/M.S. in Biology, Chemistry or a related field with 0-2+ years of experience
  • Strong hands-on experience in basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques. 
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship 

Additional Preferences

  • Knowledge and experience with phage and/or mRNA display platforms
  • Proficiency in cloning, PCR/qPCR, and DNA/RNA preparation and purification
  • Experience with one or more binding/functional assay formats
  • Knowledge and experience in cloning, cell-culture and protein expression & purification
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, independent and results-oriented

Position is full-time, 8am - 5pm with occasional overtime required.
