    Job description

    A leading specialty retail organization is seeking an experienced Merchant to support its Third-Party Wholesale business within the Swim and Apparel category. This individual contributor will be responsible for developing assortment strategies, driving product commercialization, and analyzing business performance to maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity. The ideal candidate is a confident decision-maker with strong merchandising expertise who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and key business partners.
    • Location: Reynoldsburg, OH (Hybrid) | Remote considered for exceptional candidates
    • Duration: August 31, 2026 - October 31, 2026
    • Pay Rate: $34.48/hour
    • Hours: 40 hours/week

    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and execute assortment strategies, including pricing architecture and product mix.
    • Manage product lines from concept through production, ensuring alignment with seasonal line plans and production timelines.
    • Partner with vendors and sourcing teams on costing, manufacturing, and calendar management strategies.
    • Analyze sales, inventory, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
    • Monitor competitive activity and emerging fashion trends to influence future assortment decisions.
    • Collaborate with planning and merchandising partners to optimize inventory levels and reduce markdown exposure.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • 5-7+ years of merchandising, buying, or retail merchandising experience.
    • Prior experience as a Merchant, Senior Merchant, or Buyer required.
    • Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
    • Experience developing assortments and managing products throughout the lifecycle.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
    • Confident decision-maker with strong ownership of business results.
    • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced retail environment.
