Summary:

The Merchandiser is responsible for managing product data, online merchandising, pricing strategy, and supporting marketing initiatives to drive sales and profitability for Brian Tooley Racing. This role oversees product setup and maintenance across SAP Business One and Magento, monitors market trends and competitor activity, and ensures accurate, optimized product presentation across all digital channels.

This position also collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, and Product Development to prioritize product launches, maintain data integrity, and identify new product and vendor opportunities.

Requirements

Product Setup and Data Management:

  • Add and maintain item numbers, descriptions, pricing, and required fields in SAP Business One.
  • Create and manage product listings in Magento, including attributes, fitment, data, images, and backend structure.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of product data across all systems.
  • Maintain SAP item properties, descriptions, and mandatory fields.
  • Add new BTR products to the Master Price File.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for products requiring kitting or packaging.
  • Organize products by brand, fitment, category, and other attributes for optimal navigation and searchability.

Pricing and Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor vendor price changes and update pricing in SAP to maintain margins.
  • Review competitor pricing and adjust strategies to ensure competitive positioning.
  • Research and track industry trends to anticipate pricing shifts and customer demand.

Website and Merchandising Management

  • Maintain and optimize Magento product catalog and backend structure.
  • Manage Garage Sale section of Magento (ensure in-stock items are active and out-of-stock items are disabled).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper front-end product presentation.
  • Assist with product attributes, descriptions, and fitment enhancements.
  • Monitor customer websites for opportunities to improve our A+ content.

Product and Vendor Coordination

  • Communicate with vendors to obtain product specifications (dimensions, weights, features, etc.).
  • Identify and onboard new products, brands, and resale opportunities.
  • Communicate product arrivals, launches, and updates with Sales and Marketing teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Prioritize product setup based on business needs (Sales, Purchasing, Product Development, merchandising initiatives).

Content and Marketing Support

  • Assist with digital content including product images, videos, and basic social media support as needed.
  • Support product launch readiness from a merchandising and data perspective.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized product catalogs and digital files.
  • Perform additional merchandising, administrative, or any other tasks assigned by management.

Qualification and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
