Job description

Who are we hiring?  

The Food & Merchandise Team Lead is responsible for a location or collection of locations and their respective staff compliments. The Food & Merchandise Team Lead has a focus on merchandise display and sales, proper guest relations, and appropriate use and maintenance of facility equipment. This employee will be responsible for overall management of their location on event nights.  

What will you do?  

  • Conducting daily audits, monthly location inventory, processing of employee time sheets. 
  • Ensuring that guests receive outstanding guest service in our locations, and staff at locations adhere to high standards that have been set out by Madison Square Garden. 
  • Maintains a good understanding of our products and services as well as our systems and practices. 
  • Assists implementing of floor moves, merchandising and display maintenance along with ensuring that the cleanliness and upkeep of our locations is maintained at a high level. 
  • Reporting to management any issue from a Personnel, Maintenance, or Merchandise standpoint. 
  • Ensures the processing and replenishing of merchandise on the selling floor by participating in receiving and monitoring merchandise flow. 
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.   

What do you need to succeed? 

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of2 years supervisory experience in retail or sports merchandising. 
  • Must have previous experience in training, cash handling, equipment operation and management. 
  • Ability to process information/merchandise through the current computer register system (POS). 
  • Ability to communicate with all employees as well as guests. 
  • Must be able to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the respective merchandise store/stand. 
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store. 

Special Requirements  

  • This position is part-time and scheduled on an event driven basis. 
  • Able to walk and stand during the entire shift. 
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
