WHAT IS THE JOB?
As the Director of Merchandising, you'll focus on excellence throughout the product life cycle-ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time. This role reports to the SVP of Merchandising & Wholesale and is a full-time, exempt position and onsite in Atlanta, GA.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?
  • Develop product strategies and seasonal line plans by category to drive financial goals while supporting the brand vision
  • Drive pre-season and in-season business by tracking and analyzing product by channel to identify opportunities and optimize in-season sales and inventory
  • Lead and manage team of merchandisers supporting the Ann Mashburn and Sid Mashburn brands
  • Support company vision and product development strategy by analyzing and sharing researched historical and competitive data to inform delivery, cost and pricing strategy
  • Implement pricing architecture and manage markdowns and gross margins to hit profitability targets
  • Lead and share weekly and seasonal business learnings with the larger cross-functional team
  • Optimize seasonal item productivity through tight management of style and sku counts
  • Partner with inventory management team to ensure proper stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocks, and identify need for replenishment through the open-to-buy process
  • Align with marketing, sales, and design departments to create a cohesive brand strategy

WHAT ARE THE SKILLS?
  • 6+ years of merchandising experience in apparel, with management experience
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data, consumer insights and market trends
  • Strong retail acumen with a deep understanding of retail operations, multiple selling channels and the competitive landscape
  • Deep knowledge of apparel retail trends, fabrications, and garment costing
  • Experience leading teams, setting goals, and developing talent
  • Driven, resourceful problem solver and team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
