Responsibilities

As an MEP Manager, your key responsibility will be providing administrative and technical responsibilities for the MEP portion of selected projects, including preconstruction estimating, planning, scheduling, monitoring, and quality assurance.  This position works closely with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent to ensure the successful completion of the MEP systems. Position requires experience in construction of hospital, university, data centers, hi-tech facilities, corporate office buildings, commercial and institutional projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist preconstruction manager and project manager in scope of work preparation, Writing Mechanical and Electrical bid packages, and pre-award interviews.
  • Providing budget review and analysis, constructability reviews and recommendations, and scheduling review and updates.
  • Assist the project team with coordination and planning of the work with trades and subcontractors.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical field problems for projects in the construction phase and quality inspections and reviews of installed work.
  • Coordinate and witness systems testing and record keeping, local building authority inspections, and assist with MEP commissioning of systems.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the following disciplines:
  • Plumbing, Piping, HVAC (required), Fire protection, and Medical gases
  • Medical Equipment
  • Temperature controls and other control systems
  • Integrated systems, including fire alarm systems, nurse call stations, security systems, CATV, loudspeaker systems, etc.
  • Electrical high and low voltage systems 

Software and Computer Requirements:

  • Microsoft Applications (Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)- intermediate – advanced knowledge
  • Primavera P6 Scheduling Software – intermediate knowledge
  • Viewpoint - intermediate knowledge
  • Bluebeam - intermediate knowledge

What it takes

  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years relevant work experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or other related field a plus, but not required
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred
