Job description

Cleveland Menu is a 3rd generation family-owned business that has been serving the hospitality industry since 1930 and specializes in the design and production of high-quality leather, metal, wood and printed menu covers. We are a fast paced, rapidly growing organization that is looking for candidates with a proven track record of reliability and desire to grow with the company.
As a Bookmaker, you will be responsible for the assembly of menus in bookmaking style based on design specifications.
Essential Job Duties
  • Read and interpret work orders and drawings/blueprints to determine tooling requirements and setup procedures
  • Add finishing touches to the menus, including applying sleeves, coils, or cords
  • Operate various measuring tools to ensure materials and finished products meet the required specifications
  • Assemble menus in bookmaking style according to specifications indicated on job ticket or add finishing touches to menus such as sleeves, coils, and/or cords, etc
  • Move materials around plant for as needed for production, finishing, packaging, or shipping
  • Use the glue pot to apply adhesive to materials
  • Wrap and secure materials around menu boards according to job specifications
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities 
  • Ability to read a ruler and take exact measurements
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
  • Ability to understand work instructions in English
  • Strong focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate pallet jack, dollies, and/or hand trucks
  • Capable of working independently or in a team-oriented environment
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment and is exposed to fluctuating temperatures in certain areas; noises; working around machinery with moving parts; working in close proximity to others; potential trip hazards due to materials, tools, or equipment in the work area; and possible exposure to strong odors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift/move/carry up to 50 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods of time; use of both hands to handle or feel objects or controls with or without gloves; stoop/kneel/bend/crouch to reach material; climb on step-stool to access material overhead; climb stairs; have corrected hearing with ability to hear machine alarms; and operate machinery and/or power tools
