Job description

Prepare and serve nourishing and palatable meals and other foods in accordance with menu and to support specific diet orders.

Hours:
6a-3p

*Must work every other weekend and every other holiday.

Duties:

- Provide input to menu planning and distribution; review menus and work order to identify type and quantity of food to be prepared prior to preparation of daily meals and special events.

- Prepare meals according to planned menus and therapeutic diets; assure conformance to schedule.

- Cook a variety of fresh and nutritional recipes that meet residents’ dietary restrictions and food preferences.

- Operate a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment (blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers and tenderizers).

- Assure food quality; test and observe food.

- Assure dietary procedures and policies are up to date and followed.

- Seek feedback from residents and family members to assure satisfaction; make adjustments.

- Perform various kitchen duties including set-up and cleaning, and proper labeling and dating to assure a safe and sanitary food preparation environment; remove refuse.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook in a catering or fine dining setting.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food industry standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
