As an Applied AI Scientist, you will collaborate with the Enterprise Data Analytics team to analyze and model customer data, learn banking processes, and transform data into actionable insights. You will work alongside other experienced Applied AI Scientists to design and prototype solutions that leverage advanced analytics and AI techniques.
Responsibilities:
  • Understand business and data requirements
  • Discover, clean, and transform data for analysis
  • Design and build analytical and machine learning models
  • Prototype and validate solutions
  • Perform statistical analyses and interpret results
  • Deliver diagnostic, descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics
  • Explore opportunities for machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI in predictive modeling, automation, and model training
  • Communicate findings effectively across multiple levels of management
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science or related field plus 6+ years of related experience. Masters degree is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative background with applied statistics skills (distributions, hypothesis testing, regression, etc.)
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling, machine learning, generative AI, and data mining techniques
  • Proficiency in programming and data science tools:
  • Languages: Python, R, or Java
  • Libraries/Frameworks: NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow
  • Visualization: Matplotlib, Seaborn, GGPlot, Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience with SQL; exposure to Hadoop, Hive, or Spark is a plus
  • Knowledge of ETL workflows and scheduling tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and work independently
  • Banking or financial services experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with formal project management methodologies preferred

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
