Job description

Position Title: Software Developer

Position Overview:

S2Technologies is actively seeking a software developer to join an established development team responsible for enhancing, updating, and sustaining an existing DoD cloudbased system. In this role, you will work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with team members and end users to modernize and upgrade the current system. The position requires handson experience with Angular, Java, and Accumulo. Responsibilities include developing new code, migrating Angular and Accumulo to their latest versions, and supporting requirements development as well as other lifecycle documentation and processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet with development team and program manager to discuss requirements and project schedules
  • Support development of requirements
  • Write new code
  • Integrate various applications or other systems
  • Investigate and analyze root cause issues; propose solutions, and verify and validate final solutions
  • Participate during initial plan design and existing plan enhancements
  • Assist with documenting requirements
  • Participate in client meetings
  • Help to evolve the application by developing testing procedures and quality assurance

Position Requirements:

  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in front end or back end development
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with Angular
  • Work with IT team to coordinate efforts and communicate changes
  • Excellent business communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Discipline to complete tasks while working remotely or telecommuting
  • DoD background (desired)

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with AWS systems
  • Preferred experience with no-SQL databases.
  • Preferred candidates will have Angular experience, but strong frontend developers from other backgrounds (e.g., Python) may also be a fit. Cloud development is advantageous, especially in AWS environments.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Top Secret/SCI

Required Certification(s):

  • Requires DoD 8570.01m Certification (IAT-II)

Education:

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, computer science, project management or related field. The equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
