Rate: $7,200.00 Stipend amount paid is pro-rated based on the start date of assignment
Location: Lisle Campus
Position Summary: Thisposition is responsible for assisting the basketball program with therecruitment and retention of student-athletes while working to ensure the beststudent experience possible for the members of the Benedictine University BasketballProgram.
Essential JobResponsibilities:
1. Assist the basketball programwith the identification and successful recruitment of qualified studentathletes to help place the program in a position of competitive leadership inthe Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
2. Responsible for coaching and mentoring student-athletesas well as assisting with film breakdown, developing and implementing scoutingreports, game and practice plans, and coaching in all traditional andnon-traditional segments that will place the program in a position ofcompetitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
3. Responsible for assisting the head coach, program, anduniversity personnel with the retention of student athletes. This includessocial and academic support, meeting regularly with the members of yourassigned position group to monitor their academic progress to ensure playersare investing the time and effort required to be successful in the classroom.
4. Provideinstruction in technique and safety procedures in adherence with NCAAregulations and Sports Performance expectations in the declared playing andpractice seasons.
OtherFunctions:
* Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community.
* Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
* Maintain a positive student athlete assessment for program from student athletes.
* Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.
* Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
* Serve on University, conference and national committees as needed.
* Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Must be enrolled as a Benedictine student in good standing.
Experience: Coaching orplaying experience and extensive knowledge of the sport at the collegiate levelpreferred.
Qualifications: Applicantmust obtain acceptance into a Benedictine Graduate program of Master ofBusiness Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master ofScience in Management & Organizational Behavior or Master of Public Health.
Specific Skills: Organizationalskills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budgetmanagement skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses,Certifications: Yes, Valid driver's license, and CPR/AED/First Aid required within the first90 days of employment.
Physical Requirements: May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.Must reach, bend, stoop, lift. Must sit, walk or stand for long periods oftime. Ability to handle varying levels of stress whilemaintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking,kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel;frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or coldweather.
Abilityto speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of anotherperson.
