YOUR IMPACT

The Manager, National Partner & Business Development, supports the Director of Business Development in executing strategic growth initiatives while strengthening relationships with existing National Partners. This role is responsible for driving partner retention, deepening engagement, and contributing to new business development efforts to expand the National Partner community.

This position serves as a key contributor to the successful rollout of the organization’s membership and program growth strategy. The Manager will execute on membership, partnership, and sponsorship growth initiatives and work closely with the Vice President, Business Development and National Partners to identify, refine, and advance future growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and engage a robust network of contacts that benefit the organization’s mission and growth.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring National Partners receive ongoing value, remain actively engaged, and continue to champion industry self-regulation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

National Partner Retention & Engagement

  • Serve as a primary relationship manager for National Partners, who include global brands, national law firms and trade associations, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
  • Develop and execute partner engagement plans to increase participation across programs, events, and initiatives
  • Proactively identify and mitigate retention risks through regular check-ins, feedback collection, and value reinforcement
  • Track and report on partner engagement metrics, retention rates, and strategic trends
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored experiences and solutions that align with partner priorities
  • Facilitate onboarding for new National Partners to ensure a seamless and high-value introduction to BBB National Programs
  • Identify opportunities to increase or expand partner involvement across additional programs and services

Business Development Support

  • Support the Director in executing strategies to achieve annual National Partner acquisition goals
  • Assist in building and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective National Partners
  • Conduct research on target organizations, industries, and key decision-makers
  • Prepare customized proposals, presentations, and outreach materials
  • Participate in outreach efforts, including meetings, calls, and follow-ups with prospective partners
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach and engagement activities in CRM systems

Value Proposition & Program Integration

  • Clearly articulate the value of National Partnership, including thought leadership, industry influence, and commitment to self-regulation
  • Work cross-functionally to align partner interests with relevant programs, events, and initiatives
  • Support the development of new engagement offerings and benefits that enhance partner value

Events & Sponsorship Support

  • Assist in planning and executing events that reinforce the value of National Partnership
  • Support conference sponsorship sales and partner participation
  • Ensure strong partner representation and engagement at BBB National Programs events

Internal Collaboration & Operations

  • Partner with marketing, program teams, and leadership to ensure consistent messaging and partner experience
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage accounts, contacts, and engagement activities effectively
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on partner engagement and business development progress

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4–7 years of experience in account management, partnership management, or business development
  • Strong relationship management and client service skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
