Manager, Business Development - REMOTE POSITION


JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a highly driven and relentless sales hunter. The Manager, Business Development, will focus on securing new accounts for corporate sponsorships and digital media, identifying and securing new business sales opportunities for GBTA. The position plays a key role in developing important new partner relationships at GBTA, which in turn funds an important portion of our annual operating revenues.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Prospecting & New Business:Identify and secure new sponsors and digital media partners aligned with GBTA's key initiatives (events, research, education, media).
  • Pipeline & Sales Execution:Manage a full sales cycle in Salesforce, build pipeline, and develop compelling proposals for new and renewed partnerships through global events, convention research, and media sales - focus on maximizing revenue from deployed accounts, prospect for new suppliers within the industry and other verticals.
  • Relationship & Account Management:Cultivate senior-level client relationships and manage ongoing sponsor accounts and contracts throughout the year.
  • Foundation Support:Assist with major donor and sponsor prospecting for GBTA Foundation People & Planet initiatives.
  • Fundraising: Supports fundraising activities for GBTA Foundation including WINiT, Sustainability, Ladders, and other foundation led initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive sales and relationship management experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals, with proficiency in proposal building and Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with a positive, team-oriented approach and accountability for results.
  • Highly detail-oriented and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and goals, and effectively support business objectives.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS


  • Experience working in an industry membership-based organization or association.
  • Travel industry knowledge preferred.
  • Multi-lingual a plus.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Remote work environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting/remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to remain stationary and move for long periods of time, during events.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate various meetings and events.

  • Up to 15% of travel to events and meetings; based on organizational needs.
