POSITION SUMMARY

The National Pest Management Association is proud to serve nearly 4,000 member companies in the US and around the world. As the pest control market continues to see record growth with nearly 18,000 companies providing pest control in America, NPMA is focused on expanding our membership base so that we can further support the growth and development of the industry in the domestic and international arenas.

NPMA is seeking an Associate Director of Membership Growth & Engagement to lead strategies that grow and strengthen our membership base. This role drives new member recruitment and builds the kind of engagement that helps members see NPMA's value and choose to renew year after year. It's a high-impact position that directly shapes the association's growth and influence across the pest control industry. The position reports to the VP of Membership & Certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless recruitment, onboarding, and continuing engagement experience for members
  • Partner with the membership and communications teams to build and execute recruitment and retention plans aligned with NPMA's strategic goals and value proposition
  • Contribute to development and management of the recruitment budget
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify prospects and shape targeted recruitment strategies
  • Use data analytics to track membership trends and measure performance
  • Maintain and grow a pipeline of prospective members
  • Build strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including pest control companies, state and provincial associations, and industry influencers
  • Work with state and provincial associations to source new prospect lists and provide recruitment guidance and support
  • Manage and grow the Member Advantage Partners program
  • Equip NPMA colleagues with recruitment materials for state and provincial association visits and events
  • Represent NPMA at industry events and conferences to promote membership benefits and build relationships
  • Deliver responsive, professional service to members and prospective members alike
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in membership development, business development, or sales — ideally within a trade or professional association
  • Proven track record of hitting membership growth targets
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to write clear, persuasive messaging for current and prospective members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Aptify preferred) and data analysis tools
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn the pest control industry and its challenges
