If you're an experienced Avionics Technician with expertise in Garmin systems, The Blackhawk Group is seeking your talent to join our dynamic team in Broomfield, CO. This vital role supports our aircraft maintenance operations by performing avionics maintenance, avionics system upgrades, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring all components meet industry safety standards. As an Avionics Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the high-quality standards that our clients rely on. What You'll Do
  • Perform avionics recurrent scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on various systems including Com, Nav, DME, WX Radar, EFIS, and Altimeters
  • Conduct system repairs, pitot/static and transponder system testing, and RVSM checks
  • Execute equipment installations and modifications, including database and firmware updates
  • Maintain detailed documentation for airworthiness directive and service bulletin compliance
  • Perform incoming and outgoing inspections on avionics systems
  • Stay updated with the latest industry advancements and technological developments
  • Follow electrical schematics and maintain Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) compliance

What You Bring to the Table
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience with avionics tooling including Multimeter, Megger, and Milliohm meter
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems
  • Strong knowledge of altitude reporting systems and RVSM requirements
  • Experience with Datalink Weather and Traffic Systems, GPWS, etc.
  • Ability to perform pitot/static and transponder system testing
  • Must live locally or be willing to relocate
  • Willing to work overtime, including weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Avionics associate's degree
  • A&P license
  • Installation experience with various makes and models of MFD, GPS, and Nav/Com
  • Expertise with Garmin systems (G1000NXi, GTN750), GTS820, and GTX335/345
  • Previous experience with Garmin, Collins, and L3 systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and advancements in the aviation industry
