Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join an established healthcare team for a locum tenens position near Haynesville, Virginia. This opportunity allows physicians to provide essential OB/GYN services to a diverse adult patient population in a supportive hospital environment, offering rewarding patient experiences and collaborative support.

Job Highlights:
  • Location: Near Haynesville, Virginia
  • Position Type: Locum Tenens - OBGYN
  • Shift: 24-hour on-site call coverage
  • Daily Patient Volume: Approximately 11 patients per day
  • Call Requirements: On-site call coverage, including labor and delivery support, ER consultations, and floor consults
  • Support: Full hospital nursing support, EMR (eCW for outpatient, Meditech for inpatient)
Responsibilities:
  • Inpatient Rounding: Provide consistent on-site care for laboring and triaged OB patients.
  • Delivery & Procedures: Manage scheduled inductions, deliveries, and emergent procedures as needed.
  • Consultations: Respond to ER and floor consults and be available by phone for emergent inquiries from hospital staff or partnering clinicians.
  • Trauma Call: Respond to obstetric emergencies as required, supporting patient needs comprehensively.
Key Qualifications:
  • Board Certification/Eligibility: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Licensing: Current Virginia medical license required
  • DEA Certification: Valid DEA registration
  • Experience with EMR Systems: Familiarity with eCW (outpatient) and Meditech (inpatient) preferred; orientation can be provided if needed
