Job description

Medical Warehouse Specialist

A Medical Warehouse Specialist is responsible for managing the inventory and operations of a warehouse that stores medical, dental, and combat casualty care supplies. This position supports the Medical Central Issue Facility (MEDCIF) Manager who will provide areas of workfocus within the scope of the contract. This position will work in the day-to-day MEDCIF warehouse operations primarily providing logistics support services, to include, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, and inventory management learning and using a government-provided Inventory Management System (IMS). The MEDCIF Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability and accessibility of essential supplies to support medical and combat operations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for MEDCIF Warehouse Specialist: $22-23/hr.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

MEDCIF Warehouse Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Primarily providing logistics support services, to include, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, and inventory management learning and using a government-provided Inventory Management System (IMS)

  • Store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage and shipping methods

  • Operate power lifts, forklifts, hand trucks, carts, automated wrapping machine, and other material handling equipment in performing warehousing duties

  • Shipping and receiving support; examining and noting stored materials

  • Reporting deterioration and damage

  • Rearranging and maintaining inventory of stored materials in warehouse locations

  • Shelf-life surveillance and management

  • Material handling, packaging, marking, and movement

  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations

  • Picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing and retrieving stock

  • Hazmat handling, quality control, and respond to requests from warehouse lead for logistics support as required

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

MEDCIF Warehouse Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of DoD logistics and inventory management experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in performing warehouse duties, such as managing the shelf life, shelf-life extension which includes using the Materiel Quality Control Storage Standards (MQCSS) and Quality Status List (QSL) databases to view data elements required to determine item extension

  • Previous working knowledge of Navy or DoD inventory management is preferred

  • Individuals must be able to demonstrate written and oral communication skills and maintain access and qualifications to all required systems on provided GFE, to include forklifts.

  • Previous experience in medical logistics, pharmaceutical and medical material management, medicinal control, and expiration and Shelf Life Extension Program (SLEP) is preferred

  • This positions secondary responsibilities include cross training in inventory management, shipping and receiving, building and kitting medical material, material reconstitution, and quality control

  • Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Logistics Specialist, Inventory Control Specialist, and/or Materials Management.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
