Job description

Medical Appointment Scheduler/Operator

McIver Clinic has been a trusted leader in urological care in Jacksonville since 1921. With multiple locations throughout the greater Jacksonville area and more than 27 providers, we deliver compassionate, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of urology, from minimally invasive procedures to complex surgery and oncology.

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and clinically skilled Medical Appointment Scheduler/Operator to join our team.

The Medical Appointment Scheduler/Operator is responsible for answering the phone and working with patients in person to schedule medical appointments, in addition to directing patient calls and taking messages using a multi-line telephone system.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer high volume incoming calls to coordinate and schedule patient appointments
  • Greet incoming patients and schedule or reschedule appointments
  • Collect patient personal data and insurance information
  • Make calls to reschedule appointments when necessary
  • Answer questions and provide other information as requested
  • Direct calls to other departments and relay necessary messages to staff.
  • Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Prior customer service experience in a healthcare setting
  • Prior scheduling experience in a medical office setting
  • Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service with a patient-care focus
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Computer proficiency
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience:

  • Medical Office: 1+ years (Required)
  • Customer Service: 1+ years (Required)
  • Computer Skills: 3+ years (Preferred)
