JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE
Automation Intelligence, a Peak Technologies company, Junior Robot Programmer is responsible for supporting the development, programming, and troubleshooting of robotic systems used in automated manufacturing and assembly processes. This role works under the guidance of senior engineers and programmers to create, test, and modify robot paths, sequences, and logic. The position involves hands-on programming at customer or production sites and requires an understanding of industrial robots and automation systems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist in the creation and modification of robot programs using teach pendants and offline programming tools.
  • Support the setup, testing, and commissioning of robotic systems in production and customer environments.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of robotic programs and hardware issues.
  • Work with team members to implement process changes, cycle time improvements, and program refinements.
  • Support integration of robotic systems with peripheral devices such as vision systems, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, and sensors.
  • Follow established programming standards and customer specifications.
  • Document programming changes and system configurations as directed.
  • Participate in reviews, training sessions, and team meetings to build skills and knowledge.
  • Support site work including travel and shift assignments as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks within skill level as assigned by senior staff or project leads.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS
  • Technical certificate, associate degree, or coursework in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Basic understanding of industrial robots, preferably Fanuc, ABB, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to robot programming and troubleshooting methods.
  • Familiarity with teach pendant interfaces and basic motion control.
  • Willingness to learn and follow structured programming practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work shifts as required to support on-site assignments.
  • Reliable transportation and professionalism when interacting at customer sites.
