Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you will assume a crucial supportive role, collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to identify and meet their comprehensive needs while promoting optimal health, well-being, and safety.
Every day you will perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by providers, potentially assist with front office duties, and meticulously maintain accurate chart documentation. You will also participate in professional development, contributing actively to our high-valued MA team.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, our organizational mission, and core values. Your commitment to patient care standards and growth within our MA Clinical Ladder, with competitive pay based on certification, will be key.

  • Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data, and evaluate patient's response and report to the responsible provider to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including but not limited to vital signs, mini treatments/procedures, prevention services, previsit planning and postvisit follow up, medication refills per protocol for existing treatment plans and ensures patient flow through the clinic is efficient.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of a patient plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; determines presence/absence of barriers to active participation in the individualized care plan and ability to selfmanage their health conditions, with the purpose of planning patient care and care coordination.
  • Successful completion of all Medical Assistant Core Skills, as well as additional competencies which are specialty specific, as defined within the Scope of Practice for Medical Assistants.
  • Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records, including importing and communication of scanned documents.
  • Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • BLS through American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from recognized program
  • One (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant or as an EMT
  • Completion of Medical Assisting Program/Trade/Technical School
  • Completion of EMT Program/Trade/Technical School Associates who have completed EMT training will need to complete required courses on pharmacology
