Job description

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to join our boutique internal medicine practice. The Medical Administrative Assistant will support both clinical and administrative operations, provide excellent patient service, and work closely with physician and other healthcare staff to ensure an efficient, organized, and positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Handle front desk duties.
  • Prepare patients for examinations
  • Take vital signs, perform EKGs, perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness, organization, and adequate medical supplies.
  • Schedule patient appointments, confirmations, follow-ups, and referrals.
  • Process electronic prescriptions and communicate prescription-related information appropriately.
  • Obtain and process prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and specialist referrals.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and assist with patient registration and collections.
  • Professional phone manner is a must.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant or Medical Assistant in a physician's office, clinic, or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of an EMR/EHR system required, eClinicalWorks (ECW) preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and accurate data entry.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a small, fast-paced medical practice.
  • Bilingual Russian and/or Ukrainian is a plus.

This position is ideal for a Medical Administrative Assistant who enjoys working closely with patients and a physician and is comfortable performing both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a small private internal medicine practice. The successful candidate will be organized, proactive, dependable, and committed to providing compassionate patient care and exceptional service in a friendly manner.
