Job description

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Practice Administrator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic.  Recruits, hires and trains personnel to ensure efficient and effective office workflows and responsible for enforcement of clinic policies and procedures.  Responsible for process improvement, execution of goals and providing service excellence.  

Essential Job Responsibilities:
•    Exhibits and demonstrates a leadership style that promotes the company and adheres to the highest ethical standards and management philosophies.
•    Manages the daily operations of their respective clinic(s).
•    Assists in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan and associated workplans. 
•    Establishes and maintains an efficient and responsive patient flow process.
•    Oversight of office and medical supply inventory and purchasing and processes all inbound and outbound mail. 
•    Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies
•    Oversight of financial management for assigned clinic(s).
•    Participates in professional development efforts to align with current healthcare trends and practices.
•    Responsible for all scheduling activities and time management duties for assigned departments.
•    Responsible for all orientation and training activities of assigned staff.
•    Performs periodic and annual performance evaluations.
•    Responsible for OSHA compliance for assigned clinic(s).
•    Responsible for management of all customer complaints.
•    Maintains accuracy and productivity levels as established by department standards.
•    Performs, organizes and streamlines operational tasks to reduce the potential for errors.
•    Maintains patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
•    Travels as required.
•    All other duties as assigned by CEO.

Work Experience:
•    Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the administration of a healthcare organization.  

Skills:
•    Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
•    Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
•    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, management, third-party payers, patients, and the public.
•    Skill in organizing work, making work assignments, and achieving goals and objectives.
•    Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting, and coordinating departmental policies and procedures.
•    Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
•    Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
•    Working knowledge of medical terminology.
•    Computer proficiency and prior experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
•    Requires frequent bending/carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
•    Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite healthcare services including computer entry. 

Education:
•    Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, or health services administration or equivalent experience.
