Job description

Self Pay Representative

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Self Pay Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist patients with their self-pay accounts, ensuring accurate billing, payment processing, and excellent customer service throughout the payment process.

Responsibilities
  • Contact patients with self-pay accounts to discuss outstanding balances and payment options.
  • Assist patients in setting up payment plans and provide information on financial assistance programs.
  • Process payments accurately and update patient accounts accordingly.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, charges, and payment policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure account accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient communications and payment arrangements.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to patient billing and collections.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
