Job description

I. DESCRIPTION
  • General Function: The receptionist at the rural health clinic provides and maintains an organized office and reception environment. The receptionist coordinates the billing, collection, and accounts receivable activities of the medical clinic. The receptionist is also crossed trained to be able to fill in where needed.

II. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Education Requirements:
    • High School Graduate
    • Completion of Clerical Training Program preferred
    • CPR Certification
  • Experience Requirements:
    • Two years in a medical office
    • One year health related clerical experience
  • Special Requirements:
  • Proficient in skill associated with the position and competent in operation of all equipment used in the clerical function of the clinic.
  • Preferred Type 40 WPM
  • Must be computer literate

III. JOB RELATED HAZARDS: Most job functions will take place in an air-conditioned office with little exposure to hazardous or infectious materials. Customer contact may cause some exposure to infection.
