Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coding & Billing Auditor to join our team. This position is ideal for a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with strong experience in physician coding and clinical documentation review. The auditor will play a key role in ensuring coding accuracy, supporting regulatory compliance, and improving documentation practices through collaboration with providers and revenue cycle teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed audits of provider medical records to ensure accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Verify that clinical documentation supports billed diagnoses and procedures
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting findings, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide education and guidance to physicians, coders, and billing staff on coding standards and documentation requirements
  • Partner with providers to improve documentation clarity and specificity
  • Assist in training revenue cycle staff on coding updates and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, payer policies, and coding guidelines
  • Maintain audit documentation, logs, and performance metrics to support quality initiatives


Required Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of professional medical coding experience
  • Experience with physician or medical office coding
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
