Job description

Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance serving Maryland doctors for over 50 years, seeks an Assistant Vice President, Risk Management to provide strategic leadership in the development, operational management, and accreditation compliance of educational programs for its policyholders.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and ensure the effective delivery of comprehensive evidence-based educational programs to educate physicians and healthcare professionals on industry best practices and risk mitigation strategies, and to navigate complex healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Respond promptly and effectively to policyholder inquiries regarding regulatory compliance and practice management concerns
  • Drive innovation through the development of new educational initiatives and strategic marketing approaches
  • Provide expert guidance on medico-legal matters, including federal and state privacy laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Maryland Medical Practice Act, informed consent, outcome disclosure, and termination of treatment
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, including those of the ACCME and ADA, and maintain regulatory adherence for Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities
  • Develop and oversee content for Risk Management newsletters and Risk Management section of the Company website
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all Risk Management services and staff
