Job description

AMDA College of the Performing Arts is seeking friendly, organized, and service-oriented students to join the Library team for the Fall 2026 semester.

Student Workers play an important role in supporting campus operations while serving as professional members of the AMDA community. Library Student Workers are vital partners in delivering high-quality library services and act as a first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff.

Position Overview

The Library Student Worker supports daily library operations, assists patrons with research and resource navigation, and helps maintain an organized and welcoming environment. This role reports to the Library leadership team and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Assist patrons in searching for, locating, and accessing library materials
Guide patrons in navigating online collections and databases
Answer questions via email, phone, and in person
Teach patrons how to use in-house printers and copiers
Assist patrons with online printing services (e.g., Papercut and Mobile Printing)
Check materials in and out for members of the AMDA community
Reshelve books, music scores, plays, and DVDs accurately
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized library environment
Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Currently enrolled AMDA student for the Fall 2026 semester Minimum 3.0 GPA
Strong communication and customer service skills
Basic familiarity with library systems and online research tools
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and members of the AMDA community
Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented

Employment Details

Must be enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester
Student employees are paid minimum wage in accordance with applicable state and local law
Work schedules are arranged around academic commitments
Student Worker positions are hired on a semester-to-semester basis and continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the current term
