Collins Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Engineering Electronics Technician in Burnsville, MN. The chosen candidate will support an Engineering Development Lab in a team-oriented atmosphere with technicians and engineers. This individual will be involved with supporting the development of avionics products.

What You Will Do:

  • Support engineering activities in an Engineering lab supporting developmental, prototype, or critical nature test systems and cables.

  • Assemble cables and test equipment from prints and documentation.

  • Update and improve prints and documentation.

  • Engineers will provide tasks which require assembly, support, and resources to complete current tasks. Cable or test fixtures will be assembled/wired per documents.

  • Maintain electronic build records, required data logs, records, and reports in accordance with Collins' policies and procedures, and government regulations.

  • Demonstrate effective communication and regular interaction with management, customers, and internal / external auditors.

  • Complete tasks and communicating effectively, both orally and written, within environmental test work centers.

  • Deliver work with a keen attention to cost and schedule.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Debug of test fixtures and failed circuits for performance evaluation.

  • Conduct engineering requested tests from breadboards, prototypes, and final test hardware.

  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

  • Implement EH&S processes and procedures; recognize safety hazards, including hazardous materials

What You Will Learn:

  • Assembly of engineering breadboards and development test fixtures

  • To support engineering tests; monitor, analyze, reduce, and record data. Perform mathematical calculations or utilize data acquisition tools

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

  • The candidate must have the ability to understand schematics and work with limited direction

  • Prior knowledge of mechanical hardware and electrical circuits

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in building test systems and hardware

  • Working knowledge of Digital Meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and related equipment and a general understanding of calibrated equipment.

  • Basic Mechanical, Electrical knowledge, and Electronics troubleshooting experience.

  • Enjoy a variety of different pop-up tasks. Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment where priorities can change with demands.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel) and basic knowledge of databases are needed.

  • Strong skills will be required to support technical communications with engineers and external vendors.

  • Be a self-starter, ambitious, and a conscientious individual with who possesses very high attention to detail, capable of working in a fast-paced development environment

  • Must be flexible working in both process-controlled environments and capable of executing technical tasks in a development prototype environment

The salary range for this role is 53,100 USD - 100,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
