As our Manager Continuing Medical Education, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, managing and evaluating continuing medical education programs and courses provided for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) medical staff.

Every day you will ensures programming responds effectively to education needs identified by appropriate medical staff committees. You will be expected to maintain standards of performance to ensure continuing accreditation status for the medical education programs with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and Washington State Medical Association (WSMA).

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Plans, manages and evaluates the work assigned staff in accordance with the content, spirit and intent of applicable internal/external regulations and standards for human resource management.
  • Interprets and ensures compliance with applicable internal/external legal and regulatory agreements, standards and requirements; keeps abreast of changing regulatory requirements/regulations.
  • Monitors and assesses current operations/services to identify opportunities and provide recommendations to CME leadership for performance/process improvements initiatives.
  • Participates in committees, and works closely with physicians in identifying medical education needs by; conducting/documenting “needs assessment” gap analysis.

To be successful in this role, you must have knowledge of the principles, practices and tools pertaining to the development of accredited medical education programs and courses that meet stated objectives.


Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of recent progressively responsible work experience in medical and/or clinical education.
  • Experience in managing a clinical function requiring physician education.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Two years experience in a led or supervisory capacity
