Job description

Join the dynamic team at CaroMont Medical Group, located just a short drive from the vibrant city of Charlotte, NC—one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation! We are seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) with a minimum of two years of experience.

Job Summary: The Medical Director for Urgent Cares, Family Medicine, and Occupational Medicine directly influences the overall quality and standardization of care, patient experience, medical leadership, and economic performance to improve population health for the Service Line.

The Physician Medical Director works 1-on-1 with an operational director.  This compensated position has a time commitment up to 6 hours per week, approximately 24 hours per month.  

Qualifications: Active North Carolina Medical License and CaroMont Regional Medical Center Medical Staff membership in good standing. Specialty specific Board certification, employed by CaroMont Medical Group, and actively caring for patients. Prior formal leadership position(s) strongly preferred. South Carolina License preferred (must obtain within 3 months of employment).

  • Superb physician and administrative relation skills and proven ability to engage physicians and administrators by providing valuable insight and logical information.
  • Analytical skills necessary to interpret quantitative and qualitative data relevant to the market, organization, and service line.
  • Ability to clearly direct and motivate individuals while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Possesses strategic agility as demonstrated by ability to recognize and capitalize on innovative, valuable, and achievable product line offerings aligned with the CaroMont Health Vision.
  • Contributes to achievement and maintenance of an efficient service line delivery model as defined by accepted internal and external benchmarks.
  • Ability to work effectively with groups and organizations as a leader or a team player
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to produce analysis of complex issues, including financial data.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Primary Care Service Line (PCSL) Leadership team to support the vision and mission of CaroMont Health.
  2. Participate in Primary Care Strategic Planning processes and relevant Primary Care Service Line meetings and initiatives
  3. Participate in the development and implementation of Care Pathways and Quality Improvement to standardize disease management and align operational and clinical workflow
  4. Improve communication between CaroMont Health and CMG providers
  5. Provide diversity of perspective to CaroMont organization
  6. Interact and round with CMG primary care practices to provide consistent, strategic messaging from CaroMont.
  7. Participate in strategically important community, regional, and state population health initiatives.
  8. Work collaboratively on behalf of PCSL and primary care practices along with CaroMont specialty service lines, medical directors, clinic operations, as needed, to better align communications, clinical pathways, quality, and patient care coordination.
