Job description

At Houston Methodist, the Medical Device Integration (MDI) Analyst position is responsible for intermediate level support and configuration of assigned medical device integration equipment, communication devices and associated applications. The position entails configuration, installation and support of medical and communication devices in the patient care setting. The MDI Analyst troubleshoots issues and works with vendors on issue resolution. The MDI Analyst partners with customers to increase understanding of available tools to enhance operational efficiencies. Responsibilities may include creating, documentation and assisting other Information Technology (IT) groups and teams with issues and problems. The MDI Analyst ensures the services provided contribute to the successful accomplishment of department and organizational goals. The MDI Analyst possess intermediate technical expertise to support specific healthcare equipment and associated applications. The Analyst will cross train to become proficient in multiple types of medical device integration, communication devices and applications. The MDI Analyst applies skills in line with Houston Methodist values and goals, to assure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality IT services.

EXPERIENCE

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Field Operations and vendors to support communication and medical device integration at the point of patient care.
  • Assists, trains and supports customers with the operation and administration of equipment and associated systems.
  • Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional. Shares acquired skills with team members through documentation and training.

  • Supports full equipment life cycle including equipment assembly, integration with associated applications, validation, installation and support. Proposes solutions to problems and considers timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing client needs.
  • Utilizes working knowledge of equipment, integration and associated applications to effectively complete assigned tasks. Applies workflow to and from equipment used at the bedside to downstream applications.
  • Effectively leads and facilitates meetings. Develops meeting objectives, agendas and action items.
  • Supports equipment, integrations and software applications, including on call support.

  • Fully understands and supports patient safety requirements supporting equipment in patient care areas.
  • Provides high quality technical support for assigned equipment and associated applications.
