Job description

Drive Your Business Forward as an Independent Contractor Courier - Kansas City

Accurate Courier Services contracts with independent couriers to support healthcare clients throughout the Kansas City area. We are currently reviewing qualified independent contractors for ongoing courier opportunities.

About Accurate Courier Services

For over 20 years, Accurate Courier Services has partnered with hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, and medical offices to transport critical medical items safely and on time. Our services support time-sensitive healthcare operations and require a high standard of professionalism and reliability.

Independent Contractor Relationship

Independent contractors operate their own businesses and are responsible for their own taxes, expenses, and insurance. Contractors are compensated per contracted services completed. No employee benefits are provided.

Scope of Contracted Services

Service Activities

  • Transport pharmaceuticals, medical instruments, supplies, mail, documents, and medical specimens (room temperature, refrigerated, and frozen).
  • Log pick-ups and drop-offs using a secure mobile application to support chain-of-custody requirements.

Resources Provided

  • Branded swag for identification at client facilities.
  • Insulated coolers and specialty transport containers.
  • Certain delivery equipment required by healthcare clients.
  • Access to courier certifications required for contracted services.

Contractor Equipment and Obligations

  • Provide and maintain a reliable vehicle and compatible smartphone.
  • Maintain current driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance.
  • Report and pay all applicable taxes and business expenses, including fuel and vehicle maintenance.
  • Comply with HIPAA and all confidentiality and data-protection requirements.

Contract Performance Standards

  • Complete services within agreed-upon pick-up and delivery windows.
  • Communicate delays, incidents, or service issues through the designated communication channel.
  • Perform services in a professional and courteous manner consistent with healthcare client expectations.
  • Perform services free from impairment, in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Operating Environment

Services are available at various times, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather. Work may involve driving, walking, standing, and lifting items up to 50 lbs.

Contractor Qualifications

  • Minimum age 21 with at least 3 years of personal-vehicle driving experience.
  • Familiarity with Kansas City roadways and traffic patterns.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record and ability to pass background and drug screenings as required by healthcare clients.
  • Reliable, registered vehicle and smartphone compatible with required applications.
  • Medical, laboratory, or courier experience is beneficial but not required.

Important Notice:

Engaging with Accurate Courier Services as an independent contractor does not create an employment relationship. Submission of an application or completion of screening steps does not guarantee a contract or future work.
