CNC Setup Machinist | La Verkin, UT


Nexeo Staffing is hiring experienced CNC Setup Machinists for a precision manufacturing facility in the La Verkin / St. George area.

We are seeking candidates with hands-on experience setting up and maintaining CNC mills and lathes used for metal machining. Candidates with screw machine experience are highly encouraged to apply.

This position is responsible for machine setup, troubleshooting, tooling adjustments, quality inspections, and maintaining production efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and related production equipment
  • Install and adjust tooling, collets, guide bushings, and bar loaders
  • Preset, measure, and adjust cutting tools and coolant systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, CNC programs, G-codes, and tool paths
  • Perform first article inspections and verify product quality
  • Make offsets and machine adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot CNC machines, tooling, and production issues
  • Calculate feeds, speeds, dimensions, and tolerances
  • Monitor machine performance and maintain production requirements
  • Complete machine tear-downs, retooling, and preventative maintenance
  • Work closely with programmers, engineering, and production teams to improve processes
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of CNC setup experience
  • Experience setting up metal CNC mills and/or CNC lathes
  • Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and troubleshooting
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments
  • Preferred:
    • Screw machine experience
    • GD&T knowledge
    • Understanding of G-code and CNC programming concepts
    • Experience with first article inspections
    • Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills


Pay

$23.00-$32.00 per hour


Schedule

Full Time | Days: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM

Full Time | Nights: Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-3:00 AM
