Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI is seeking a RESPIRATORY THERAPY ASSISTANT to join our RESPIRATORY THERAPY team!

Job Description:

The Respiratory Therapy Assistant provides respiratory and cardiopulmonary assessment, monitoring, diagnostic, and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments. This person assists licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP) under their direct, immediate, and on- premises supervision. S/he assists in educating the public regarding respiratory disease and care. Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care. Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols is normally acquired through active attendance as a senior student in an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.

  • Experience in clinical healthcare beneficial.

  • Current BLS certification - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • Active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care, experience with electrocardiography, arterial monitoring and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) beneficial.
