Abridge is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Product (Data Products, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence) to serve as the primary legal advisor for teams building the company's core AI and machine learning models and products. This highly cross-functional role is central to Abridge's mission of improving clinical documentation and patient care through advanced, auditable AI technology.
The Associate GC will partner closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams to address legal issues at the forefront of AI model development, agentic workflows, and multimodal healthcare experiences. Responsibilities include identifying and mitigating AI-specific legal risks, developing scalable legal frameworks and contract language for frontier AI, and shaping Abridge's positions on emerging AI regulation. The role also supports privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and data governance for AI training and deployment, while championing principles of transparency, accountability, and human oversight.
Ideal candidates bring 12+ years of legal experience, including 6+ years advising on AI, machine learning, or emerging technology products, with prior in-house experience required. A strong understanding of AI-specific legal issues-such as IP, data rights, model liability, and responsible AI-is essential, as is the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-legal audiences.
