Job description

Iberia Medical Center(IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance ourvision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians andemployees. IMC is currently hiring a Materials Management Medical Buyer, who is responsible for purchasing medical and other supplies to all departments, offsite locations and all physician's practices. Effectively interacts with most department employees and all mangers/directors throughout the hospital. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with vendors. Contract compliance. Mail Distribution. 

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Driver's License

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and solve problems.
  • Must have a good sense of responsibility and integrity.
  • Medical terminology experience.
  • Medical supply purchasing experience.
  • Good driving record.
  • Courier experience a plus but not necessary.

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contract compliance
  • Check on backorders  
  • Accounting invoices.
  • Assist in Shipping and Receiving
  • Assist with filing when needed
  • Track orders
  • Assist SPD
  • Assist Materials Manager
  • Update item master with changes
  • Track lost charges
  • Patient charges as needed
  • Assist in month end processes
  • Work closely with other departments and supply excellent customer service
