Overview The global Finance function ensures robust financial control across our global operations, partnering with the firm as a valued commercial advisor, influencing strategic decision making and driving longโ€term profitable growth. We achieve this vision with all our people working collaboratively, united as one inclusive Global Finance team. Role Summary The Global Billing Analyst ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the orderโ€toโ€cash cycle, contributing to the firm's financial health and customer satisfaction. The role involves managing working capital and forms an important part of the larger Finance function, handling one or more areas such as order processing, billing, payment collections, accounts receivable and reporting. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables Process and manage billing transactions, including uploading client bills to the eโ€billing system and ensuring compliance with client fee deals, local regulations, tax requirements and internal billing policies. Accurately process time and cost transfers, writeโ€offs and writeโ€downs while ensuring proper authorization. Maintain a proper audit trail of work performed to ensure compliance with global and local billing standards. Act as liaison for internal stakeholders (Partners, Assistants and other Finance departments) and customers to address inquiries, resolve billing and payment issues, and maintain strong customer relationships. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to client accounts efficiently. Generate and analyze financial reports related to billing processesโ€”such as audit reports, aging reports, cashโ€flow forecasts and collection reportsโ€”to provide insights and support decisionโ€making. Ensure all billing processes comply with relevant regulations and firm policies, maintaining accurate and complete documentation of transactions and communications. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve billing processes, implementing best practices and collaborating with crossโ€functional teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Train new team members on processes as required. Key Requirements Confident working with numbers and able to reconcile; excellent numeracy skills. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Flexibility to work nonโ€standard hours, sometimes on short notice. Strong communication skills with partners, executive assistants, client value and other colleagues. Effective time management and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines and manage expectations. Resultsโ€focused mindset, able to identify recurring process issues and drive continuous improvement. Experience within a Global Shared Services environment. Knowledge of and experience with billing processes, including law firm billing systems such as Thompson Reuters Elite 3e. Compensation Range Fairlight: $80,000 to $100,000. This range is specific to New York and California and is based on factors such as skill set, experience, training, and other business needs. It has not been adjusted for geographic differential; final compensation is dependent on facts and circumstances.
