Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY:This is a POOL position. Application materials for this part-time position are accepted on an on-going basis. As openings for temporary, part-time dental technology (dental assisting) instructors become available, candidates may be selected from this pool of applicants.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Demonstrated understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
AND
-Possession of any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
AND
-Possession of a current California Registered Dental Assistant licensure as required by the state;
AND
-Possession of a current Dental Assisting National Board "Certified Dental Assistant credential".
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Possess background in and current knowledge of dental assisting, the specific subjects being taught and educational theory and methodology consistent with teaching assignment, e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement and evaluation.
-Possession of two (2) years of teaching experience in a RDA program.

Candidates are required to possess the following licenses and certificates:
-Current Certified Dental Assistant (in good standing).
-Current Registered Dental Assistant (in good standing and including radiology, coronal polishing and sealants).
