Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Alanna McFail, Katie Keogh and Leadership Team
Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to join our interventional pain management team. In this vital role, you will provide both clinical and administrative support to ensure exceptional patient care.

You will work at both our Knightdale and Wakefield offices, and will assist providers during patient visits and procedures, manage patient flow, and maintain accurate medical records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates empathy and professionalism in every patient interaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Greet, room, and triage patients
  • Record vital signs and perform medication reconciliation
  • Assist providers before, during, and after patient visits and procedures
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and procedure rooms
  • Document patient information in EMR (eClinicalWorks)
  • Coordinate with outside offices to obtain/send records, referrals, and imaging
  • Initiate and manage prior authorizations for medications and procedures
  • Prepare charts and support overall clinical workflow
  • Assist with front desk and administrative duties as needed
  • Support C-arm (fluoroscopy) positioning during procedures when needed
  • Handle sensitive patient concerns with professionalism and discretion
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1–2+ years of Medical Assistant experience (required)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
