Our Primary / Urgent Care Centers are positioned around consumer convenience with availability 365 days a year and in-office X-Ray for prompt and effective patient care.
Job Overview: Medical Assistant

Company: Reagan Medical Center

Locations: Multiple locations: Lawrenceville, Suwanee, Dacula, Johns Creek

Job Type: Full-time amp; Part-time

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, including weekend availability


Primary ResponsibilitiesPatient Care amp; Triage
  • Greet and escort patients through the clinic flow, from the waiting area to discharge.

  • Obtain patient history, triage/assess patients, and accurately measure and record vital signs.

  • Explain treatment procedures and prepare both the patient and the exam room.

  • Perform patient callbacks, coordinate referrals/testing, and schedule follow-up appointments.

Clinical amp; Lab Procedures
  • Administer injections, medications, and eye/ear irrigations.

  • Draw blood (venipuncture), start/monitor IVs, and process/label specimens for send-out.

  • Perform CLIA-waived lab tests and conduct both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens (using proper chain of custody).

  • Perform diagnostic tests (ECGs, eye exams, cardiac/oxygen monitors, pulse ox, peak flow, and inhalation treatments).

  • Assist physicians with clinical procedures, remove sutures/staples, and change sterile/non-sterile dressings.

  • Perform dosage calculations for medication administration.

Operations amp; Facility Support

Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.

  • Perform quality checks on medical equipment.

  • Complete medical charting, including documentation of services rendered, test results, and supplies used.

  • Perform basic X-rays or assist radiology technicians with X-ray setup.

  • Assist front desk registration staff and handle clerical duties as needed.


Key RequirementsEducation amp; Experience
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting OR EMT program.

  • 1 year of experience in medical assisting, EMT, or LPN roles (Preferred: 1 year of experience with EMR systems and vital signs).

Certifications amp; Skills
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or EMT

  • CPR / BLS Certification.

  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and basic computer skills.

  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.

Physical amp; Logistics
  • Ability to escort or transport patients via wheelchair.

  • Ability to travel within the Gwinnett region.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
