Dermatology Medical Assistant - Certified

Location: Issaquah, WA

Start Date: 03-30-2026

End Date: 06-29-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Day); occasional weekend shifts (up to 5 per contract); may float to sister clinics (First Hill, West Seattle, Bellevue)

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs to ensure safe, efficient visits
  • Prepare exam rooms and set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays for biopsies and ED&C
  • Assist providers with procedures including punch and shave biopsies, sterile techniques, and suture removal
  • Collect, label, and process specimens and maintain clear chain-of-custody documentation
  • Chart visits and procedure notes in EPIC promptly and accurately
  • Manage office duties such as authorization forms, chart preparation, pharmacy calls, and refill requests
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care with compassion and clarity
  • Perform dressing changes, wound care, and blood glucose checks via glucometer as needed
Qualifications
  • MA-C certification required (MA-R and MA-P candidates are not eligible)
  • EPIC charting experience is required
  • At least 6 months of adult outpatient clinic experience preferred; dermatology experience preferred
  • BLS certification and CMA credential are preferred but not strictly required
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to float to nearby clinic locations when needed
  • Able to complete a 40-hour orientation and comply with facility onboarding requirements
  • First-time travelers welcome — open to local and non-local candidates
Education
  • MA-C certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CMA and BLS certifications preferred
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficient in EPIC charting and in-basket communications
  • Obtaining vital signs and accurately recording history, medications, and allergies
  • Aseptic technique and sterile tray setup for minor surgical procedures
  • Performing and assisting with punch and shave biopsies and suture removal
  • Specimen collection, labeling, and wound care/dressing changes
  • Patient rooming, chart preparation, scheduling, and authorization workflows
  • Comfort handling pharmacy calls, refill requests, and follow-up phone calls
  • Use of point-of-care testing such as glucometer
