SUD (Substance-Use Disorder) Clinical Supervisor – Residential Treatment Programs

Provide Leadership. Guide SUD Counseling Excellence. Transform Lives.

Are you ready to lead with purpose and elevate the quality of care for women in recovery? As a SUD Clinical Supervisor, you will play a vital leadership role in shaping clinical services, guiding staff, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care in a residential treatment setting.

In this position, you will do more than oversee services—you will mentor clinicians, strengthen program integrity, and help create a structured, trauma-informed environment where women can heal and thrive.

If you are a licensed professional who is passionate about leadership, guiding SUD counseling excellence, and empowering others, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You Will Do

These responsibilities focus on SUD clinical leadership, staff supervision, program development, and regulatory compliance.

SUD Clinical Leadership & Oversight

  • Oversee all SUD clinical aspects of the residential treatment programs
  • Provide individual and group SUD clinical supervision and documentation review for treatment staff
  • Offer consultation to staff and Program Manager on client treatment challenges
  • Facilitate and oversee client staffing processes
  • Ensure compliance with DHS 75 and survey oversight
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director as appropriate
  • Meet with clients as needed to support care and oversight

Staff Supervision & Program Administration

  • Supervise clinical staff in partnership with the Program Manager
  • Support SUD Counselor hiring, onboarding, and retention of SUD program staff
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for new and existing SUD Counselors to promote professional growth and clinical excellence
  • Provide clinical supervision for staff seeking licensure or certification
  • Coordinate and support the internship program
  • Maintain oversight of client charts and documentation standards specific to substance-use disorder
  • Medicaid training and oversight
Program Development
  • Stay current on evidence-based practices for substance use disorder treatment
  • Promote gender-responsive and trauma-informed care approaches
  • Provide input on program structure and service delivery
  • Recommend and implement evidence-based substance use disorder group curricula in compliance with DOC contractual requirements.
  • Improve and guide treatment planning systems and processes

Program Evaluation & Compliance

  • Design and implement program evaluation processes with leadership
  • Monitor and review outcomes data to guide program improvements
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, grants, and regulatory requirements specific to DHS 75 and DOC
  • Support data collection for DQA and grant reporting
  • Ensure regular clinical team meetings and case reviews occur
  • Recommend program enhancements to senior leadership
  • Review and Sign SUD paperwork
What You Will Bring (Qualifications)

These qualifications reflect the SUD clinical expertise, leadership ability, and experience required for this role.

Education & Licensure

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Substance Use Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Behavioral Science, or a closely related field.
  • Current Wisconsin Independent Clinical Supervisor (ICS) credential preferred. Candidates who hold an active Wisconsin behavioral health license (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Psychologist) and are legally authorized to provide SUD clinical supervision under Wisconsin law will also be considered.
·

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in the field
  • At least three years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment

Expertise & Leadership Skills

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based SUD treatment practices
  • Experience implementing gender-responsive programming
  • Ability to lead teams, provide mentorship, and foster professional growth
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and compliance skills

 What We Offer

  • Comprehensive Benefits & Support
We offer competitive compensation, generous time off, retirement planning options, and a supportive work environment that prioritizes both professional success and personal well-being.
