Job description

JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Manager, Media Planning, you will serve as a primary client-facing leader for the Media Planning program within MARRIOTT MEDIA, Marriott's fast-growing commerce media network. You will report to the MVP of Sales, and oversee the development, optimization, and execution of media plans for brand partners, ensuring that media strategies directly advance partner marketing and commercial objectives. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to align media strategy with business priorities, ensuring seamless execution and measurable outcomes. This role requires strong collaboration across teams to deliver data-driven media strategies and campaign optimizations for a portfolio of MARRIOTT MEDIA brand partners. 

You will lead a team of media planners who partner with brand stakeholders to understand strategies & business objectives, build cohesive and innovative media plans, and triage campaign execution. Acting as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, brand partner teams, and external agencies, you will ensure the smooth execution and performance tracking of campaigns across MARRIOTT MEDIA's owned digital (web, email, app), offsite digital (programmatic & paid social), and on-property (guest room TV, Wi-Fi Portal) channels. You will work at both the account and campaign levels, managing forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis while providing strategic and tactical media planning support. You are someone with a growth mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are naturally curious and stay current on the MarTech/AdTech ecosystem, digital marketing trends, and evolving media strategies.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in digital media, marketing, media strategy, or advertising
  • Strong project leadership skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously and drive alignment across internal and external teams
  • Expertise in cross-channel digital media planning (programmatic, paid social, paid search, display, owned digital, etc.), with strong understanding of audience strategy, targeting, and investment planning
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, translate insights into strategic recommendations, and present effectively to executive audience
  • Advanced analytical capability and familiarity with media performance measurement, optimization methodologies, and budgeting frameworks.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

Primary Activities

  • Lead strategic media planning team including a team of Managers, acting as the primary advisor on media strategy, channel allocation, and investment prioritization.
  • Coach and develop team including implementation of best practices, setting team priorities, and driving accountability.
  • Work closely with brand partner teams to understand their needs and objectives, and then create and refine media plans, including campaign scheduling, budgeting, creating target audiences, etc.
  • Support annual planning process, quarterly campaign reviews, forecasting and regular performance check-ins with internal stakeholders and brand partners.
  • Manage all day-to-day campaign launch details for assigned initiatives and act as the main point of contact for brand partners and agency partners.
  • Provide clear and complete direction to cross-functional members and teams to design and kick-off the planning process.
  • Collaborate with internal Ad Ops teams to develop and execute media campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with broader business & marketing goals.
  • Collaborate with Reporting & Insights teams to deliver performance reports to brand partners. 
  • Collaborate with Finance and Billing teams to manage media investment reconciliation, invoicing processes, and budget tracking.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior internal stakeholders, brand partner teams, and agency partners. Foster a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Lead strategic conversations, communicating wins, risks, and performance drivers, and proactively engaging leadership to address gaps.
  • Guide cross-functional teams to ensure shared understanding of partner objectives, strategic priorities, and campaign execution requirements.
  • Support a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation, open feedback, and continuous improvement.
