THE IMPACT YOU CAN MAKE:
The Director of Product Management (Retail Media) is a strategic product leader responsible for defining and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ulta Beauty Media (UB Media), Ulta Beauty's retail media network. This role leads multiple product teams focused on building advertising technology, measurement capabilities, audience activation, campaign management, reporting, and partner experiences that enable brands to connect with millions of engaged beauty guests across onsite, offsite, and in-store channels.
This leader serves as the primary bridge between Product, Engineering, UB Media business leadership, Marketing, Digital Commerce, Data & Analytics, and external technology partners to deliver innovative media products that create value for brand partners while enhancing the guest experience. The role requires balancing long-term platform strategy with near-term business priorities to accelerate revenue growth, operational efficiency, and product innovation.
The ideal candidate is an experienced product leader with deep expertise in advertising technology, retail media, digital commerce, and marketing technology. They possess strong business acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to influence executive stakeholders while building and mentoring high-performing product teams. This individual thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for leveraging technology, data, and experimentation to unlock new business opportunities.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
  • Define and own the multi-year product vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for the UB Media product portfolio.
  • Lead multiple Product Managers, Product Owners, and Product Analysts responsible for delivering capabilities across advertising platforms, campaign management, audience solutions, measurement, reporting, and partner experiences.
  • Partner closely with UB Media commercial leadership to translate business strategy into scalable product investments that drive advertising revenue and advertiser satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, Analytics, Marketing, Digital Commerce, Loyalty, and Store Operations to deliver integrated media capabilities across Ulta Beauty's omnichannel ecosystem.
  • Establish product goals, OKRs, KPIs, and operational metrics to measure product performance and business outcomes.
  • Drive prioritization decisions that balance customer value, technical investments, platform scalability, and commercial impact.
  • Build strategic relationships with advertising technology vendors and platform partners to influence roadmaps, evaluate emerging capabilities, and identify opportunities to accelerate innovation.
  • Champion modern product management practices, customer discovery, experimentation, and data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Ensure product investments align with enterprise architecture, privacy, governance, and security standards.
  • Serve as an executive thought partner to Technology and UB Media leadership on future retail media capabilities, market trends, and competitive differentiation.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Stay informed on retail media, digital advertising, AI, commerce media, identity, measurement, privacy, and personalization trends to identify future product opportunities.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry partners to strengthen Ulta Beauty's retail media platform and competitive position.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, customer obsession, and continuous improvement across product teams.
  • Build, mentor, coach, and develop Product Managers while establishing clear career paths and leadership capabilities.
  • Drive product adoption through close partnership with business stakeholders, change management, training, and operational readiness.
  • Establish product governance processes, roadmap transparency, and executive communication mechanisms across Technology and Business organizations.
  • Represent Product Management in executive planning sessions, vendor engagements, and cross-functional strategic initiatives.
ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • 5+ years leading Product Managers and cross-functional product organizations.
  • Experience building products within Retail Media Networks, Advertising Technology (AdTech), Marketing Technology (MarTech), Digital Commerce, and/or Media Platforms.
  • Proven experience developing and executing product strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystems, campaign management, audience targeting, measurement, attribution, and advertising operations.
  • Experience managing complex product portfolios with multiple agile teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable product solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging customer insights, experimentation, and product analytics to guide decision making.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technology platforms, APIs, data platforms, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and align diverse stakeholder groups around product strategy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working within a Retail Media Network or commerce media platform.
  • Familiarity with advertising platforms such as CitrusAd, Criteo, PromoteIQ, Microsoft Retail Media, Google Ad Manager, The Trade Desk, Amazon Ads, or equivalent ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of audience platforms, CDPs, identity resolution, first-party data activation, and privacy frameworks.
  • Experience building measurement products, attribution capabilities, or advertiser reporting solutions.
  • Experience leading platform modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven advertising, recommendation systems, and optimization technologies.

The pay range for this position is $143,000.00 - $190,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
