Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Social Media and Communications Intern will play an active role in building and managing Autism Society of Georgia's online social communities. This role will assist the Executive Director with coordinating monthly and weekly content development, scheduling and publishing. An essential component is communicating our organization's brand in a positive, authentic way that attracts engagement on a daily basis. The Social Media and Communications Intern will regularly analyze and report metrics required to identify the success of online and social media projects.
  • Coordinate creative and production projects for Autism Society of GA's digital space.
  • Assist Autism Society GA in effectively communicating marketing and ongoing plans, as they pertain to social media.
  • Create social media strategies around social media platforms for society message and events.
  • Help develop, and learn to apply existing, language to champion these social media efforts, which will vary depending on social media interaction and platform.
  • Foster and maintain fruitful social media interactions over a variety of these platforms.
  • Maintain a basic promotional calendar of social media plans that coincide with the promotion of all marketing initiatives.
  • Clearly articulate project scope and objectives for social media and additional marketing projects to the team.
  • Establish and meet deadlines for these projects and assist supervisor with budget management of promotions in the digital space when budget is concerned.
  • Graphic design, when desired and necessary, for social media content.
  • Must stay at the leading edge of industry trends, to create a marketing strategy that generates inbound leads, gains followers, and creates a positive image for the company.
  • Responsible for regularly evaluating the success of their marketing efforts and tweaking their marketing strategy as needed.
  • In-depth metrics reports and analytics for all platforms to determine strengths and weaknesses based on results.

Qualifications
Education: Must either be enrolled in college/university leading to the achievement of a degree or completed undergraduate degree.
  • Background/studies in Marketing, Communication or other related discipline.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Passion for marketing, strategy and written communication skills.
  • Experience with social media and web - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, Instagram, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.

Additional Information
Location: Georgia but will work remotely. Face-to-face meetings will be scheduled periodically and supplemented by video conference calls.
Details: This is an unpaid internship. The internship is targeted to begin on August 15, 2016 and end December 31, 2016. You are expected to work 10 - 16 hours a week.
