Surgical Technician

Per Diem/Part Time

Responsibilities:
Surgical Technician duties will consist of, but are not limited to:
โ€ขย ย  ย Secure and prepare all supplies required for surgical intervention.ย ย  ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Ensure the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field in OR.
โ€ขย ย  ย Perform surgical counts according to center policies and procedures.
โ€ขย ย  ย Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment.
โ€ขย ย  ย Help monitor patients during surgery.
โ€ขย ย  ย Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
โ€ขย ย  ย Perform surgical functions to assist surgeon during surgical procedure.
โ€ขย ย  ย Collect and label specimens taken during surgical procedure.
โ€ขย ย  ย Follow all federal, state, and departmental safety procedures.
โ€ขย ย  ย Maintain a proper sterile field during surgical procedures.
โ€ขย ย  ย Provide technical assistance to surgeons, surgical nurses, or anesthesiologists.
โ€ขย ย  ย Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
โ€ขย ย  ย Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.
โ€ขย ย  ย Prepare, care for, and dispose of tissue specimens.
โ€ขย ย  ย Wash and sterilize equipment, using proper products and sterilizing techniques per manufacturers guidelines.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
โ€ขย ย  ย Operate, assemble, adjust, or monitor sterilizers, lights, suction machines, or diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation.
โ€ขย ย  ย Disinfect all the equipment and tools used after the surgery.
โ€ขย ย  ย Assist with Cleaning and turnover of the operating room after the procedure.

  • BLS certification.
