OTC Program Associate


NC MedAssist is North Carolinas only nonprofit, statewide free pharmacy. Our programs assist our neighbors with medication access needs by providing prescription and over-the-counter medication at no cost. Our mission is to dispense opportunities through improved health.

Job Overview

The OTC Program Associate is a full-time position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our Over-the-Counter (OTC) program. This role focuses on assisting customers and volunteers, maintaining organized inventory, fulfilling orders, and helping ensure the Free OTC Program operates efficiently and effectively.

The OTC Program Associate reports directly to the OTC Program Director and works closely with the Mobile Free Pharmacy (MFP) team and volunteers on a daily basis to support program operations and provide excellent service to the community.

Position Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the OTC Program Associate include but are not limited to:

  • Support the daily operations of the OTC warehouse, ensuring products and supplies are organized, accessible, and distributed efficiently.
  • Receive, unload, inspect, and process incoming shipments of OTC medications, health products, and program supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and track product movement utilizing inventory management systems and other tracking tools.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transferring, and organizing products and supplies, including lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Provide guidance, training, and day-to-day support to volunteers participating in warehouse operations, packing projects, and inventory activities.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming warehouse environment that supports efficient operations and volunteer engagement.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across departments to ensure timely fulfillment of program needs and organizational priorities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and sound judgment while working in fast paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Perform other duties assigned to support the OTC program and overall team operations.

Requirements/Qualifications


  • Background check and drug screening required. Background checks are part of our hiring process. We believe in second chances and consider each applicants situation individually.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English, bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Friendly, motivated and passionate about assisting others.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced warehouse and retail environment.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with Word, Excel and other applications is preferred.
  • Willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced setting.
  • Reliable transportation.

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate of $18.00 an hour, paid on a bi-weekly pay schedule


HOURS AND LOCATION

This position is fully onsite with a 40-hour work week

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without reasonable accommodation)

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, lift up to 30lbs with occasional lifting of up to 40lbs.
  • Full range of motion for frequent bending, squatting and reaching.
  • Flexibility in working in diverse settings including office, warehouse, retail store and outdoors for events.
  • Valid North Carolina drivers license and insurable under the organizations policy.
  • Comfortable operating a company vehicles frequently.
