Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will perform clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance while ensuring cooperative working relationships with colleagues across departments.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Medical Technology.
  • Familiarity with Vitros.
  • ASCP certification or an equivalent nationally recognized Medical Technology certification required within one year of hire.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within six months of hire.
  • Reasoning and language skills at the college level.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain confidentiality and exhibit a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in all interactions.
  • Incorporate and adhere to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization.
  • Wear appropriate uniform and display name tag while on duty.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform routine and special laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
  • Recognize test inconsistencies and implement appropriate corrective actions, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Immediately communicate critical test results to physicians or nurses based on established criteria.
  • Prepare legible test reports, accurately initial and date own work, and review reports for clerical and clinical accuracy.
  • Conduct quality-control tests and analyze data, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments, documenting all checks and actions taken.
  • Assist with clerical functions associated with the laboratory and maintain pertinent files.
  • Help maintain a clean work area and restock supplies as needed.
  • Participate in department meetings and in-service training sessions.
  • Adhere to laboratory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assume a leadership role in routine daily activities as assigned.
  • Demonstrate composure in stressful situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including assisting in coordination of educational activities and inventory control.
  • Assist the Laboratory Manager in quality-assurance initiatives.
  • Work with minimal supervision while demonstrating dependability and responsibility.
Shift Information

Monday-Thursday: 6:30 PM - 5:00 AM. Holiday coverage is required.
