Work Period: July 13, 2026 to September 4, 2026

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA.  There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

This role: As a RoboShark Intern, you'll take on real engineering challenges that help bring SharkNinja's next generation of robotic products to life. From intelligent software-driven systems to advanced electromechanical solutions, you'll work alongside a team that is redefining what consumers expect from robotics innovation.

You'll gain hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and improving robotic systems while collaborating with world-class engineers across Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems, Test, and Quality Engineering. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, develop technical expertise, and make a tangible impact on products that reach millions of consumers.

We're seeking current bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students, as well as recent graduates (within one year of graduation), with a strong foundation in robotics, mechatronics, embedded systems, and product development who are eager to move fast, solve complex problems, and learn in a highly collaborative environment.

Current students are responsible for confirming that participation in the program, and any related intellectual property assignment obligations, are permitted under their university's policies, program requirements, and any other applicable agreements.

  • Design, prototype, test, and refine robotics and mechatronics solutions for next-generation consumer products
  • Support the development and validation of robotic systems through hands-on experimentation, testing, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems, Test, and Quality Engineering teams to evaluate tradeoffs and optimize integrated product performance
  • Build and evaluate prototypes while validating system performance, reliability, and user experience
  • Participate in technical deep dives and design reviews to identify root causes, challenge assumptions, and develop innovative solutions
  • Support feasibility studies, CAD development, engineering analysis, and technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Apply first-principles thinking to complex engineering challenges and contribute creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Present project updates, technical findings, and recommendations to engineering stakeholders and SharkNinja leaders

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

  • Education: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field, or have graduated from such a program within the past year
  • Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Demonstrated experience with mechatronic or robotic system design and development through academic, research, competition, startup, internship, or professional projects
  • Experience with cross-functional projects involving mechanical, electrical, and software components
  • Experience creating and executing experimental test plans to evaluate performance and inform engineering decisions
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks and/or Creo)
  • Experience integrating sensors, actuators, motors, embedded software, and electronics into electromechanical systems
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes and conducting experimental testing in a laboratory, workshop, research, or product development environment
  • Comfortable multitasking and responding quickly to shifting priorities
  • Ability to identify, develop, implement, and validate technical solutions both independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, strong first-principles thinking, positive can-do attitude, and proven ability to develop robust and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
