Job description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets - passenger vehicle and commercial truck - Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Dana Incorporated is seeking to fill Manufacturing Engineering positions for the 2026 Spring, Summer, and Fall time period at our manufacturing facility in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical skills by working alongside Dana's engineers in the completion of departmental oriented tasks, projects, and assignments.

Qualifications

Enrollment & active pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Specific majors: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Mechatronics program. 
   Proven work experience, strong analytical ability, & excellent mechanical aptitude..
   Self-directed & motivated individual with great organizational skills.
   Willing to do multiple assignments.
   Good oral & written communication skills.
   Must be able to interface in a team environment.
   Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
   Assist with manufacturing process improvements.
   Participate in quality review and corrective action implementation.

Quality Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
   Creation of quality documentation.
   Maintain records of manufacturing.
   Quality auditing and investigation.
   Collaborate with other department functions to develop and implement controls and improvements.
   Inspect and test products and processes to ensure quality specifications are met.

Gear Process Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
   Manufacturing engineers work specifically with the production of our gearsets.  
   Work with corporate gear engineering to maximize manufacturability.
   Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
   Assist with gear manufacturing process improvements.
   Perform quality studies to improve process capability.
   Assist with plant layout/department layouts.
   Work with manufacturing engineers on pre-production product.

Process Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
   Support production with continuous improvement to process design and efficiency within project timelines.
   Develop and update documentation, including process sheets, PFMEA's and Control Plans.
   Resolve quality and tooling issues.
   Assist in troubleshooting process and machine issues.  
   Work in cross functional teams with interface between Engineers, Skilled Trades and Operators.

Controls / Automation Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
   Integrate sensors, vision systems and other devices to existing processes.
   Troubleshoot and recover line stoppages.
   Lead cross functional teams to recover and prevent line downtime.
   Identify and set up critical spares.
   Implement process and quality improvements.
